At the Canadian Registry of Therapy Animals and Service Animals (hereafter referred to as CRTASA), the privacy of our members and web site visitors is of utmost importance to us when providing useful information and our registry services. CRTASA safeguards the security of the data you send us with physical, electronic and management procedures.
The following policies are in effect for the web pages and online services operated by CRTASA.
CRTASA is committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of its customers and web site visitors. That is why we want you to understand the actions we take to protect your privacy and to ensure data security when we collect and use information about you. Because your privacy is important, CRTASA will not disclose, sell, rent, trade or share your personal information except as outlined in this Privacy Statement. Where CRTASA engages third parties or uses subsidiaries to perform any services on our behalf, we will require them to observe the intent of this Privacy Statement and Anti-Spam Policy.

What information does CRTASA collect and how will it be used?
CRTASA may collect the following types of personal information on its new, existing, renewing or previously registered CRTASA members with service animals when they interact with us online, complete an online form or submit a completed application registration form that identifies their full name, e-mail address, physical mailing address, telephone number and any/all third-party information provided about themselves as per the CRTASA application criteria and membership requirements including information about their personal working animal registered with CRTASA such as the working animal's name, breed, gender, colour, date of birth and its certification status by a licensed and/or certified animal training facility.
This information shall only be used to respond to new, existing, renewing or previously registered CRTASA members that request information on services offered by CRTASA or to provide after-membership service assistance. CRTASA will not disclose any CRTASA member's private information with a third-party organization with the exception of a third-party organization contacting CRTASA to inquire if a person and their working animal are registered by CRTASA and in good standing according to CRTASA's operational registry process governed by its terms and conditions.
In addition, CRTASA also collects non-personal information about your computer hardware and software. This information may include: your IP address, browser type, operating system, domain name, access times and referring web site addresses. This information is used for the operation of the service, to maintain quality of the service, and to provide general statistics regarding use of our web sites.
CRTASA also collects non-personal information about which pages our customers visit within our web site. Our web servers do not record e-mail addresses or other personal information unless it is willingly provided by the individual when filling out a web form. CRTASA will not share your information with other organizations without your prior approval.
CRTASA's web sites may contain hyperlinks to other web sites. CRTASA is not responsible for the privacy policies or content of such web sites, or how they treat information about their users. CRTASA does not share any of your individual personal information with the web sites to which CRTASA links, except as stated elsewhere within this Privacy Statement. Please check with the hyperlinked sites to determine their privacy policies.
From time to time, CRTASA may be required to provide personally identifiable information in response to a court order, subpoena, or government investigation. We also reserve the right to report to law enforcement agencies any activities that we in good faith believe to be unlawful. CRTASA may release personally identifiable information when we believe that such release is reasonably necessary to enforce or apply our terms and conditions or to protect the rights, property and safety of others and ourselves.
Anti-Spam Policy
CRTASA maintains a strict no-spam policy. If you receive unsolicited email from CRTASA, our affiliated corporate sponsors, or our distributors, please notify us at info@crtasa.com. Include the offending email with all the headers intact. Please be aware that it is not uncommon for spammers to hide behind someone else's email account, as well as use mail servers that they do not own.
Changes to this Statement
CRTASA will occasionally update this Privacy Statement and Anti-Spam Policy. When we do, we will also revise the 'Last updated' date at the top of this Statement to ensure that you are viewing the most current version. For material changes to this statement, CRTASA will notify you by placing prominent notice on our web sites.
Your Consent to this Agreement
By using any of CRTASA's web sites, you consent to the collection and use of information by CRTASA as specified above. Your information may be stored and processed in Canada or any other country in which CRTASA or its affiliates, subsidiaries, or distributors maintain facilities, and by using this site, you consent to any such transfer of information outside of your country.
